The Bahía Blanca harbor is located south the Buenos Aires province, 650 km away from Buenos Aires, Argentina's District Capital. This is a very privileged location considering the important production and consumption hinterland.

The harbor complex is located within the Bahía Blanca county, which capital is Bahia Blanca and it is a very efficient nucleus for general services. This framework, abundant in high quality human and technological resources is vital for the administration, finance, trade and industry of a widespread area.

An excellent road network links it with several regional economies that can use the harbor as an alternative for product export and consumables import.

For example, Mendoza is 1100 km away; Southern Córdoba at 800 km; San Luis at 750 km; the valleys of Río Negro and Neuquén at 520 km; Santa Rosa at 350 Km, and the Central Buenos Aires Province and Viedma, at 280 Km.

On the other hand, as from its origin, the harbor was linked to a widespread railroad network which is currently managed by private companies. Ferro Expreso Pampeano S.A. is in charge of a wide network from Bahía Blanca to the south of Córdoba and Santa Fe.

Ferrosur S.A. operates with the east and south of the Buenos Aires Province. It is also linked to the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén in the Southern Trasandine project for the bi-oceanic integration between the harbors of Talcahuano, Chile, in the Pacific Ocean and Bahía Blanca in the Atlantic Ocean.
