Ingeniero White Harbor

Within the Ingeniero White Harbor there are two areas separated as a function of the kind of goods handled.

To the south, the area for cereal and byproducts operated by specialized companies such as Platestiba S.A.C., Terminal Bahía Blanca S.A. and Cargill S.A.I.C., and to the west, the area called for general goods, with storage and warehousing facilities.

The physical features of each of the Ingeniero White Harbor terminals are detailed in Picture Nº 1. To this respect, the Platestiba dock can also unload liquid fuel for the near thermoelectric power plant owned by the Social Power Plant of the Buenos Aires Province (ESEBA).

The area for general goods was originally developed for the cooled and frozen cargo, specially fruit and fish, and therefore it has an excellent freezing capacity of 82,000 m3 available, up to -30ºC. Such facilities are located opposite the mooring sites 17/20 which allow an efficient an safe cargo handling.

This area has truck and rail accesses to the vessels on the dock for the direct movement of the cargo. Supplementary, there is a great paved lot for goods storage or truck parking near the dock area. There are also four electric port cranes and three mobile cranes on wheels for cargo handling.

All the docks have potable water and firefighting water utilities, connected to a pressurized pumping system and service reservoirs.

Apart from the commercial docks above, the harbor has sites 1, 2, 3, 4, 21 and the coastal fishing boats berth, assigned to the harbor servicing vessels: coast guard, mooring, pilots, dredging and tugging.
