The LNG regasification vessel is back to flow natural gas, through the Bahía Blanca GasPort, directly into the Argentine´s gas distribution system.
In the morning of May 1st, the LNG regasification vessel Excelsior arrived in Bahía Blanca, as it had occurred last year, and docked at Mega´s jetty. According to the Global Energy Program undertaken by the national government, the Excelsior, with a 277 m. LOA and a 43.40 m. breath, will carry out the processes of liquefaction, transport, storage, regasification, transvasing and distribution of liquefied natural gas (LNG) into the Argentine´s gas distribution network.
Now it remains for the Excelsior, from Point Fortin in Trinidad & Tobago, to be supplied by LNG carriers to receive the cargo expected during the next five months. It is believed that the LNG cargoes supplied during 2009 will be similar to those supplied last year, about 36,ooo tonnes.
